Event information
How do I register?
It couldn't be easier to join us! You can register here.
Is there a registration fee?
There’s no registration fee! We just ask you to raise what you can.
How do I take part?
You can take on The Big 100 where you want, when you want. Whether you want to take it slow and steady, or hit your 100km target in one weekend, it’s totally up to you.
Can I start before or after the 1st July?
The distance totals will start from the 1st July so only walking distance from that date will be counted. You can start fundraising straight away though!
What do I get for completing my challenge?
Show off your achievement to your friends with your Big 100 certificate! If you raise over £100 you also get your own limited edition Big 100 2020 medal.
Can I meet others taking part?
We would love for you to join our online community here. You can share tips, fundraising advice and plenty of photos!
The Double
What is ‘The Double’?
This year, we have introduced The Double. If 100km isn’t enough of a challenge for you, go big and aim for 200km. You’ll be a Team Breathe Legend!
How do I sign up to it?
The same way as you would for the Big 100! Click here to join today!
I started doing the Big 100, but I want to take on The Double – can I change?
You definitely can! You can change within your account once you’ve signed up, if you’re feeling like challenging yourself even more.
What do I get for taking on The Double?
Top spot on the leaderboards, your certificate, and you'll be going for gold. Raise over £100 and you’ll get our limited edition golden ‘The Double’ medal. Extra bling for extra effort!
Fundraising
Is there a minimum amount to be raised?
There’s no target! We just ask that you raise as much as possible to help us fight lung disease.
How much do I need to raise to get a medal?
You will have to raise £100 to get a medal, as well as completing your challenge! By raising £100, you could fund a day of life saving research.
How do I send in money donated on to my page?
Money donated to your online page will come to the British Lung Foundation automatically.
Technical support and tracking your distance
What fitness tracker can I use?
Fitness Apps, like Strava, Fitbit or MapMyFitness, are the easiest way. You can link your fitness app to your fundraising page to get a running (or walking!) total. Instructions on how to connect your fitness apps can be found here.
Can I take on the challenge on a treadmill?
If you’re using a FitBit, you can choose Treadmill as an exercise type. MapMyFitness also has a treadmill option when selecting 'Activity type'. Unfortunately, Strava doesn’t have the capability to record static exercise.
I don’t have a fitness tracker; can I still take part?
Yes! You can add your steps manually. You can see how to do that here.
How do I get help with my profile page?
If you’re having trouble with your page, just send an email to events@blf.org.uk and one of the friendly events team will be in touch as soon as possible!
